Several parents are reportedly considering lawsuits against the former Patriots and Raiders offensive lineman after he posted their children’s names on a website created in the wake of the Labor Day weekend house party.
Has everyone heard the story about Ex-NFL star Brian Holloway? Brian Holloway, through social media, found pictures of young adults partying in his family’s second home in upstate NY. Several hundred teenagers had broken into his home while Mr. Holloway had taken up residence in his Florida home. They did an estimated $20,000 in damage to his NY home.
In the aftermath:
Today I found that Brian Holloway offered parents the chance to make amends for damage caused to his home, including smashed windows and glass doors, urinated carpets, holes in the ceilings, as well as a stolen eagle statue that was part of a memorial for his stillborn grandson.
Mr. Holloway published, on his website, that he is holding a picnic for veterans at the home this Saturday, and invited the teens and their parents to help him clean the house.
“Please help! Come out and help set up, fix up, bring food, and picnic stuff, so we can honor these real HEROS. I’m here. Come now. Take a stand for your future. This is called redemption. “
Unfortunately, only one parent showed up for the redemption out of the hundreds of children involved.
Holloway told ABC News
“I expected 100 parents to show. Only one showed up,”
Holloway also told CNN
“he was coming to the situation as a father, not a punishing”
Holloway posted the names of the young adults on a website. The website, www.helpmesave300.com, identifies over 100 of the estimated 300 house-crashers who trashed his upstate New York residence, and includes photos and tweets that documented the reckless destruction.
Rather than apologize to Holloway for their children’s behavior, some parents have contacted their lawyers to see what legal action they can take against the former Patriots and Raiders offensive lineman.
My Two Cents:
I am shocked. Mr. Holloway has the option to press charges himself. Is there any wonder as to why these children acted the way they did? How can we expect these children to become upstanding adults when the parents are rotten to the core?
Hopefully the parents that are considering the lawsuits pull their heads out of there asses and offer an apology for their children, at minimum. I would have had my child at Mr. Holloway’s home to clean up for the part played in the destruction of his home. I would have also thanked Mr. Holloway for offering my child the opportunity to make amends.
To the parents considering a lawsuit:
I am not a lawyer but I’m betting that Mr. Holloway has the option to file criminal charges and a right to restitution.
To the parents that did not show:
To the one that did show:
Thank you for taking responsibility. Maybe Mr. Holloway can change the site to www.helpmesave299.com
Mr. Holloway’s stolen eagle statue that was part of a memorial for his stillborn grandson has been recovered!!!
